League Philosophy
This league is all about fun. If you have never before played Texas Hold 'Em, this league is for you. If you have played and are terrible, this league is for you. If you are pretty good but look on it as just for fun, this league is for you. If you get upset when people make non-standard bets, don't know rules about betting at least the big blind, call when they shouldn't, etc., then this league is NOT for you. Harrasment of newbies or less talented players will not be tolerated. This league is all about friends getting together to play cards in a friendly, fun, co-operative environment. Playing to win is encouraged, abusing fellow players is not.
COSTS
Currently the league is 100% free. There is no buy-in, no cover, no entry fee whatsoever.
Once a month an e-vite goes out, typically 2 weeks prior to tournament night. The first X number of people to respond are in the tournament with other respondents placed on a waiting list. X= space available at that month's venue.
Based on recent play a major structure change is in the works. From now on, blinds will start at 25/50. Starting chips will be as follows:
1-1000
2-500
8-100
8-25
So we will start with 3000 chips (60 times the big blind).
